The Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs (ANJRPC) said in a letter that the school’s policies allow suspending students for up to a year if they are "reported to be in possession of a weapon of any type for any reason or purpose on or off school grounds."

I hope the school gets the shit sued out of them.

And Lazy 6-figure Admins who want "Zero Tolerance" policies that give them no leeway, so they can earn their big salary without having to put themselves out there on the difference between "Dad and Son Shooting" and "Kid who draws painting of himself shooting all the kids". Or, common sense shit that anybody over 13 could figure out the nuance.

What were @Marcus and others just saying about suspensions?

Anywho, the key to reforming Education starts with getting a handle on the Admins.

Maybe they didn't like the shooting range with pop up terrified students and teachers icons.

Why do Republicans require my personal info to buy or carry a firearm?
They hate the 2nd Amendment!
The 2nd is the only Freedom Americans need.

Actually it does seem like that school is violating the 2nd Amendment.

It's also a 1st Amendment violation.

This story is a big issue around here. The school actually quietly revised it's handbook after the fact and the bad publicity, unfortunately, the kids have already been punished and have the suspension/detentions on their records.

The school has also threatened disciplinary measures if kids didn't remove gun related stickers from their cars in the past.

March 19 - Just as we thought the Lacey Township High School issue was calming down (after the school quietly capitulated to ANJRPC's demand to rewrite its firearms policy), ANJRPC has learned that the school committed another Constitutional violation several weeks ago by unlawfully compelling a student to remove a sticker from his vehicle portraying the image of a type of firearm lawfully owned by millions of Americans, including many New Jersey residents.

Prohibiting the mere display of images of legal firearms is a clear violation of the First Amendment. ANJRPC has accordingly demanded in a second lawyer letter that the Lacey Township School District immediately rescind its prohibition of the sticker, apologize to the student and his family, and provide assurances that similar violations will not take place in the future.

"This latest incident reveals a disturbing pattern of disregard by the school district for the Constitutional rights of its students," said ANJRPC Executive Director Scott Bach. "Whether it's suppressing the exercise of Second Amendment rights off school grounds, or suppressing the right of free speech about firearms on school grounds, these blatant violations will not be tolerated. ANJRPC is once again prepared to sue if the school district refuses to do the right thing."

They’ll get sued and lose for infringing on rights.

What’s next, suspend one for Christian faith?

Interestingly enough, Lacey Township is a Repub town (as well as the county), and there are a ton of Rednecks that live there. Unfortunately, the public school system still has it's share of Liberal educators and administration.
