Nothing more than pro-forma theater. Likely they are there to destroy or sequester evidence.

I remember when I was a preschool through elementary schooler age, back in the early 70's.
Almost every where a kid that age would go, they had a treasure trove of those 16 milometer films and a projector. They would show us old 20's - 40's slap schtick comedy reels.

Sunday school, school, the library, and field trip. There was always a film projector set up. I would get excited as soon as I saw the projector set up. I knew there was going to be "refreshments" Cookies and Cool Aid or Fruit Punch.

I think the optics of the Jim Jones Guiana mass suicide probably killed that tradition. Thanks to that, kids now have to endure, Barnie, Author and Tele tubbies, on their tablet, and eat gluten free, fat free, sugar free brownies, and soy milk. When the all of the adults in the room want to ignore the kids..

Back to the OP well thank God the FBI gave his lawyers and clients plenty of time to get rid of the safe in the locked room, employees were never allowed near.
